UPDATES:

It has been just over a year now since I started my blog, and I thought now would be a good time to go over some updates and changes going forward.

The Blog

When I first started my blog I envisioned posting once a month and in reality we got pretty close to that with ten out of the twelve months accounted for. The whole process turned out to be more time-consuming than I anticipated and there are going to be some changes for this next year. I am going to switch to quarterly blog posts.  I’m hoping that by changing the number of times I post I will be able to bring better quality posts to you as well as have more exciting information to pass on with more time in between posts. Now, I realize that this is a drastic drop in the number of posts each year and am willing to adjust as we go. For now, four posts a year is the plan but if we get to the end and discover that that was just too few then we can change it up again. The months will be January, April, July, and November. This will start with the next post which will be in November (I plan on still posting at the end of each month).

Kelsey the Corgi

One of my first posts was about a children’s book that I wrote and had illustrated. Since the time that I posted about it I have unsuccessfully tried to get it published following the traditional route and it got set on the back burners. I am now looking into self-publishing and the various options that are available to ease that process along. For the moment I don’t have any big news, but I have not forgotten about it and am still eager to get it into your hands.

A Board Game

A big thing that I have been working on and which I won’t go into too much detail right now is that I have created a board game! The game has a lot to do with Irish Folklore but that is the only detail you are getting out of me for the moment. The game has gone through many iterations as I have fine-tuned the gameplay and various mechanics to make it more interesting as well as adjusting the rules for clarity and max enjoyment! I am in the process of having people blind play it for me so I can get more feedback and continue to make improvements, but I feel that is getting close to being ready for the next step in moving towards production. I have a close friend who is helping me with the artwork and hope to be able to make a much more detailed post about it soon (perhaps in November). I am very excited about this and can’t wait to share more with you!

As always, I am hard at work on my novel and hope to have bigger updates on that come November as well. Thank you for sharing this journey with me.

“Sam could also just let me take over writing the blogs and then we could keep the old schedule, maybe even double it. Ah well, I assume this means he’ll be needing my help with his novel then.”
